As the son of a contractor and with an interest & education in engineering I can see how Decka came to fruition. After college, I had a grand vision to perfect deck construction and provide the best contractor experience possible to clients. And so I became a deck builder/contractor.

While beginning this journey I quickly released from both personally obtaining permits through design firms, and from using drawings clients obtained from firms. That the drawings were incredibly lacking and confusing on multiple fronts. It became very clear these drawings had little to no thought put into them on the specifics of the project and instead opted for a cookie-cutter approach, leaving me to figure out for myself the parts that strayed from the norm, which tends to happen in almost every project.

The goal was always to complete the designs and permitting ourselves, but after seeing just how much the entire process could be improved for homeowners and contractors. I couldn't help but turn my full attention to creating a better system to serve this sector.

And thus Decka was born. We now realize all the improvements to permitting and design that I envisioned as a contractor. Along with many more that I didn't, and the best part is that we can provide it all to a growing audience as we expand. Right from the start the mission of Decka was clear;

Provide the best deck-planning, permitting, and building experience possible to homeowners and contractors.
